Mesquite & Turquoise
Chilean Mesquite Rootball
This 25 year old rootball was harvested out of a friend’s backyard. The ends were painted and then it was allowed to dry for several years. After debarking and carving, the final piece measured 25 by 16 inches and will be displayed in the entrance of a community building.

Reclaimed Wood
The wood used in DKA Woodworking projects is sourced both locally and from around the world. Shelves are filled with wood from an endless variety of locations: local lumberyards, free pieces shared by strangers and friends, lakeside trees from Northern Minnesota, prairie trees from a North Dakota farmstead and specialty woods from around the world. Have a pickup truck and will break for wood!
Furry Friends
A multitude of furry helpers have acted as supervisors, inspectors, entertainers and friends in the woodshop.
Madison, who ignores "kitty kitty" and only comes when called by name.
Chase Cat, busy supervising woodworking projects
What?!
Chantelle, a feisty kitty who liked to be petted for 45 seconds, tops.
Abby, using the chain link fence to scratch her sides.
Woodworking wears a guy out.
Fun & Games
Sometimes playing around with wood and tools leads to even more playtime!
